Childminders Club - Permission for my mum to stay at my house????

May seem silly question but my mum is coming to stay for 3 nights next week. As she's staying at my house, do I need anything from the parents to say they are happy with this? (she won't be here that much though).
I know all parents would be fine with it but do I need anything from them to say they don't mind??

Well, my mum lives up north and wants to visit but she'll be seeing other family etc when here so I don't see why she can't stay, was just worried about the crb thing but she's never met mindees before and probably won't for ages as don't see her that much and she usually stays in a hotel when down with my dad anyway!
I'll just make the parents aware she's coming!
I'd never leave her with the mindees but may ask her to come to ball pit or something with us so she can spend time with ds. Presume that would be ok. Will just tell the parents! Thanks!

If you have any children under 8 staying overnight then every adult over 16 who sleeps in the house has to br CRB'ed. But I don't think the same ruling applies to daytime care - it is just up to you to be able to prove that you took steps to ensure the children's safety at all times and the suitability of anyone who was there. As long as you don't leave the children unsupervised by yourself there isn't a problem.

Had an interesting discussion with some of my minding parents recently about CRB checks - if all "frequent visitors" to my house need to have police checks, should this not apply to all the parents??! We wondered what would happen if one of them owned up to having a conviction for something unacceptable!! No doubt OFSTED will have this next on their list ...
