Help for my uni students please!

I have 2 Eng lang students who want to come to the UK this summer as au-pairs and am searching out reputable agencies as a starting point for them,so far have Au Pair World and Great Au Pairs from another thread.

Are there any others that MNers would recommend?

Ta muchly!

Replied on t'other thread.

APW and GAP aren't agencies in that they don't act as an intermediary by matching families/placing them/supporting them in post. They are, however, huuuuuge banks of au pairs and jobs for a very reasonable price for families (and I think free for au pairs).

Usually there are agencies in the students home country who recruit them, check out their references, get the equivalent of a CRB check and then liaise with a UK agencies to match them to a family.
Personally through the other APs who I have met through my APs those recruited through APW and GAP are much more likely to receive poor treatment from their host families.

It's very true that the au pair themselves needs to be more vigilant about the arrangement when using those sites, however an agency is not a guarantee of good treatment and some advise things which are downright illegal.

Anyone looking to get or become an au pair should double check the info being given out to them against official sources.
