I have been asked to travel from Windsor to Brighton to look after a baby for a couple getting married. They want me there for 7.30pm till 12, but may ask me to have her in the room with me for the whole night. They are paying for the hotel room. What should I charge them, please advice me.

That's a bit of a trek for 5hrs work

Depends on age of baby and if they are generally sleeping through the night

If sleeping charge Yr normal hourly rate to midnight and then £30 sleepover fee

If young/bad sleeper then I would charge hourly rate all night

Just like I'm doing now as night nannying - also hence the silly hour I'm up :)

Maybe see if they will pay your train fare (or petrol equivalent too?)

I would suggest if you have baby overnight with you then charge hrly rate if baby wakes or a set fee whatever you are happy with - what if you dont have baby in with you overnight are you just staying there as so far from home? Are they paying travelling costs?

Thanks for feedback, they are paying for a room, travel expenses and whatever I decide the fee is. I could travel back at night but would take maybe 2 hours.
