My 21 mo mindee arrived 20 minutes ago and has spent at least the last 10 screaming because;

A. I won't let him throw balls at my head
B. I won't let him hit me

I thought I would ignore him and let him cry it out but the neighbours must think I'm killing him. He keeps stopping and looking around to see who is watching and then he starts screeming again when he sees that no one is. He even scootched over to sit at me feet and tap my leg so I know he is having a tantrum.

This is driving me crazy, he is finally starting to run out of steam but the noise is horrendous, a proper high pitched (why won't you notice me) scream. If he doesn't stop soon he will be sick but I do need to stick to my guns. I know he is fine and in no real distress iykwim as he does this at least once a day, normally I leave him for a few minutes and then distract with a jolly, come on let's do so and so but I have definitely had enough.

BTW, he is still at it.......

It's hard isn't it. I didn't have my mindees for a week before christmas as the mother finally realised they were ill and kept them at home, then I was off for 2 weeks over Christmas.
Well the youngest 1, who is 15 months had 8 tantrums on friday, full on screaming.
he had htem because
I dared to stop the buggy to stop to talk
I dared to put him on the floor and not on my lap the whole day
I dared to say no to him
I dared to sit ont eh floor and play with other mindee too

it is very wearing

wearing is such a good word for it, you feel exhausted but haven't physically done anything, weird.

He stopped after 30 minutes and is in a great mood now, playing happily by himself after feeding himself breakfast. Hopefully he now knows who is boss.

Joining the bad start club; for the first time in years I over slept.....I was awake & dressed before my first mindee arrived, but only just

18 mth old mindee had a tantrum when mum arrived to collect this afternoon - she popped to use my loo and he went ballistic. full on proper screaming.

She asked me if he'd been like this all day?

ererrr nooooooo - he has been an utter dream apart from when he flung himself on the floor because I wouldn't let him hit his sister on the head.

gotta love it!
