Nanny Pay

Hi, I am a nanny myself and I have been approached by a single mother to look after her 3 children, aged 7, 9 and 11, whilst she is on holiday for the week. From Sunday to Sunday. I would be talking the children to school and picking them up again, and staying in their home whilst their mum is away. I would be cooking, cleaning, washing etc aswell as the childcare. The lady has told me to get back to her with an amount I'd like to be paid, but I am realy lost as to what to expect. If anyone could help me with a rough amount that would be fantastic. A couple of questions

What will you be doing during the day - do you have a current job you will attend? will you be on call if the children are off school sick or be called if the school is shut unexpectedly?

I assume I would be on call for the children, as I only work in the mornings at a bnb, I would take the week off to be available for the children all week. I pressume this is when I would be doing the cleaning, any bits that need doing, preparing tea. Thank you :)

Then she should be paying you the money you will loose from not working at the BandB plus a daytime rate between 9-3 when you are on call.

I would be charging

• My normal nanny rate between 7-9 and 3-7 (as normal working nanny hours) ie £6 an hour = £36
• A reduced rate during the day (say 60% of your hourly nannying fee) but would want my BandB wages at least met for the week plus some extra ie 60% of £6 an hour - £3.60 an hour = £21.60
• Babysitting fee from 7-midnight ie £8 an hour = £40
• Overnight fee ie £30 = £30

So £127.60

Obviously substitute age/experience with area plus money you're happy with per 24 hours - this is using £6 an hour as easier to calculate :)
