Do childminders come to your house?

My daughter is nearly 7 months old and I'm considering working from home in the new year. My mum can help out, and ideally I'd like someone else to come to my home about three mornings a week (ie, 8.30am to midday). Would a childminder do this? Or do they have children at their house? Would I need a nanny instead, and how keen are nannies to work part time? Sorry, first time mum and so many questions!

A childminder looks after children at their own house. If someone comes to your house, they are a nanny.

Some nannies like working part-time. However not sure how many would only be wanting 10 to 11 hours a week split over 3 days.
You can try advertising and see if you get anyone local interested. It may suit a mum whose children are at school - especially if you can vary the hours a bit so they can drop their children off at school, then come to your home.

We were lucky enough to find a great lady who came to the house ...we have three children, and also dogs and cats

It was way easier imo and worked very well for us, she became an extra granny really, and will still house sit for us to save the dogs going into kennels!

Was always a lot easier when they were ill or off colour...no 48 hour rule!

Catsmamma - she sounds amazing! Where did you find her? Nannynick, you're right, a local mum with children would be perfect as I'm very flexible on times/days.

Tbh as you will be working from Home I advise a cm so your dc will be out of the house and you get peace

Also not many nannies will want or afford to work 3hrs a day and not with a mum who works from home

If you're in london you'll find an nanny easily as it will fit in with someone who does afternoon work (after school/ after nursery).
