How much do nannies get if caring for two children?

I have a part time nanny who looks after my son in the morning and then him and daughter after nursery. We pay £10 ph. We are needing to cut our expenses and I'm thinking about asking her about trying to do a nannyshare arrangement with another family so she would look after ds and one other child of similar age. How would this affect hourly rates? (obviously we'd make our own arrangement but just wondering what others have done.)

If she's up for it a nannyshare usually pays 20-30% more. So, around £12-£13 ph.

Nannys are paid per family rather than child

Nanny shares are at most time and a half of the going rate

So if you are paying £10 then would go to £12/15 so maybe costing you £7.50

Always discuss a gross wage - ESP in a share

Your nanny may not want to do a share - tbh and blunt shares are hassle when you have to please 4parents so you may lose your nanny when you suggest a pay cut/share

thanks all. yes realise this idea is all subject to her being up for it, but actually think she might be as shes' only a nanny part time and enjoys entertaining groups of children. We'll see...

thanks v much for your help

Agree with blondes you're looking at a hike of at least 20% and potentially 50% but the good news is that's shared with the other family. Gross wage is definitely vital to ensure you and the other family are sharing the burden evenly (pay her together on one payroll rather than as 2 jobs splitting the tax code - it's easier). Do also consider the extra costs of a share like feeding another child, getting a double buggy, increased wear and tear. Usually the non-hosting family contributes and the kitty goes half/half but it's worth considering before you go ahead.
