I'd be grateful for your views on my dilemma.

My DS's school has changed day of nativity at very short notice, from day-off to minding day! Grr at school...:o) Yesterday, I put a note in the daily contact book of the one-year old explaining this, and asking if they minded me taking their child to watch the play at school.

The mum was v sweet this morning, and said: oh, absolutely fine for mindee to go to school, but are you sure, i could get a friend to pick her up early. I wasn't expecting this very generous offer, and said 'no, it'll be fine, thanks so much anyway' etc etc etc.

But as day has gone on, very very tempted (esp as mindee has an awful cold and cough, and has got increasingly grumpy as the day has gone on! Extremely unlikely to be bribed with a bag of grapes as I was planning and more likely to roar...). Would it be terribly unprofessional to take the parent up on their offer? I guess it is unprofessional, but I would never have asked, but now it has been offered, could I possibly accept....

Thanks in advance!

I dont think it would be a problem, at this time of year we have so many xmas parties and nativity plays etc. I had to call in a favour from a parent yesterday as my little girl was ill and I would only be collecting her children from school. I felt really bad but she was fine about it and got another parent to pick her children up.

I would snap her hand off - as the mother of a 6yr old whose play I missed today because mindee played up when we got there and I had to take him into the creche and stay with him as I didnt have parental permission to leave him Sad. Hope you did and you emjoyed the play [happy]

Go for it & leave the guilt at home!
