How long does it take for children to settle with a new nanny?

I'm thinking about a month as this is what it took last time when DS1 was 7 months old. However, this time I am leaving DS1, 2.8 and DS2, 8 months, so wondering if it will take longer for them to settle as they are both older and more aware. Also, DS1 will start doing a few mornings are nursery. How long should I give him to get used to the new nanny before starting him at nursery? Thanks.

I think it varies quite a bit between individual children. Why not start pre-school immediately... as then it's part of the weekly routine. That will also give nanny some 1:1 time with DS2, who is at an age where bonding may be harder.

start straight away as you mean to carry on iyswim - so do nursery

nanny (if they are good) will be able to bond and/make friends with games and playing/reading books etc

may take a few weeks, esp if eldest is used to you being about and have a few clingy moment to you

then again they may love nanny and happily push you out the door to work every day (best scenario imho)
