DS (10months) goes to CM 2 days per week. I pay from 8.15am but drop off 8.20/8.25.

For past 2 weeks I have been off work as DH is ill, havent gone into this with CM.

Because my DS doesnt naturally wake until 9/9.30am (little darling!) I have been texting CM night before and saying can I drop him off 10/10.30am rather than waking him early which I would normally have to do when I am going into work - she has always been fine with it.

Texted her the same thing last night as Fri is a CM day for him, didnt get a reply then this morning got a text saying she couldnt have him today as her DD was ill.

Dont like to try to interpret text messages generally but text wasnt as friendly as usual and I just thought I wondered if she feels a bit messed around with later start times???

Am I being a bit paranoid?? (probably yes I reckon just wanted a 2nd opinion!)

Not sure but her dd could be ill and she doesn't want to pass it to your ds.

the only problem with later drop-offs is if she had made plans to take the children out and about, if that wasn't an issue then don't worry (here we do breakfast then are out the door by 9.30, a 10/10.30 drop off would really cock my plans up, but only if it were an ongoing issue, a weeks worth of late drop offs would be workable)

she will probably have been short with her text because of being tired from caring for an ill child

don't worry

I always say in my texts to let me know if its a prob to drop off later or ask if its OK, never just assume its alright. you're prob right she is prob just tied up with her sick DD
Thank you!

no worries

any questions, we are here

not always during the day because of working (but today is my day orf hurrah)

I wouldn't be worried about it, as long as the parent is prepared to come wherever we are. I have a parent who regularly drops off late and I just text her where we are going.

If she has been fine with the late drop off's then I am sure that isn't the problem.

I don't like late morning drop off's because I am usually out and about in the mornings in playgroups, soft play, parks etc.

I would just assume that her DD is poorly and she was tired and worried about her own LO.

I really wouldn't worry, but it wouldn't hurt to have a face to face chat to check its OK for late drop off's to be polite.

maybe not as friendly as she may have been up all night with her ill dd (just a thought)

if parents text to say they will be late normally its fine (easy morning ie school run) but normally tell them to meet me at a group etc which saves me waiting in for them x
