My DS goes to pre-school 3 mornings a week, i will shortly be returning to work and employing a nanny 4 days a week.
as we are only using 9 hrs of our 15 hr free entitlement, am i able to claim the other six hours towards nanny costs - i think i would be able to do this if it was a childminder but not sure if the same applies with a nanny. she will be ofsted registered.
anyone know anything?

No you can't. Also not all childminders can accept it either.

Sadly no....

Sadly no. Nannies cannot be accredited in the same ways childminders can. I'm Ofsted registered and my employers weren't able to claim when my eldest charge was in preschool and wont when my youngest starts next year.
You should be able to claim some chidcare costs through the tax credits system though. Not entirely sure how it works though.
