weekend Live in nanny role - what to expect?

Hi.

I have been asked if I would like to work as a live-in weekend nanny and was wondering what sort of duties I would be expected to do.
This is very preliminary so we haven't really discussed any details yet, and as i haven't done this type of role before I wanted to have a bit of an idea of what should be expected of me before we discuss further.
What extra duties would be expected with live-in as opposed to live out?
How much can I expect to earn? I have experience with families as a "nanny" and mother's help sort of duties, but as I said haven't done this sort of thing. Should they pay for my travel to and back from their house as they live a little way out from me.

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you

Tehnically none extra for being live in but you might be on duty the whole weekend, which means settling children if they wake in the night. It's no different to any other nanny job, just happens to be the weekend.

Pay entirely depends on hours and duties and your profile/experience. In general commuting to/from work isn't paid but you could ask that the salary you receive reflects the extra time.

I imagine the duties would be:

dealing with children in the morning - getting them up, dressed and fed
ferrying them to any weekend activities/organising weekend activities if the parents aren't around or being an extra pair of hands at home/out and about if they are
preparing lunch and dinner etc
keeping on top of nursery duties
evening routine - bath, story, bed etc and probably babysit.

But that's all speculation/extrapolation from what the weekend nanny in my old job did (which was basically what I did every day but at the weekend...)

Really you need to talk to them about why they want a live-in weekend nanny. Do they work at the weekends? Are they on-call for their jobs? Do they have a 24/5 nanny who has weekends off? If so would that nanny be around during the weekend?

Thanks for your response.
Of course I need to talk to them, but just wanted to sound a little more knowledgeable about the role. I have covered all the duties you mentioned above in previous jobs, so am sure nothing will come as a surprise with regards what they expect of me.

Thank you.

I worked as a live in weekend nanny - only because I didn't drive and it was 7-7 - working Saturday 7-7 and Sunday 7-7 - the mum was about but generally I dealt with all the everday tasks that came with having 3 children at the weekends - so we met up with friends, had days out, did arts/crafts etc.

I earnt £150 a weekend.
