What do other childminders do about that ? Do you charge late fees ? They all blamed the bad traffic which is true but it's a bit annoying.

Oh and just to add about cinpins thing about wanting them to be late if was charging that much......my regular late person is always saying 'oh add it to the bill, add it to the bill' as they can afford it but I've just said 'oh it's ok' but now I've put in my newsletter that i'll be charging each time now. The point is, I DON'T want them to be late. Yes, it's easy extra money but I seriously want to finish at 6pm (well, I close at 6pm but a lot take about 20 mins to get out of the door after that) - I'm not going to put that extra money before my own family! I can see your point but I think most of us just want to finish on time, that's all.

I can see where cinpin is coming from I too wouldn't charge if they were late for a good reason but had a real problem with one of my ex employers who would frequently make me miss my bus which meant I missed the connection and got home 2 hours late. no amount of money would have made up for being so late home and I could only charge for the few minutes the employer was late not the two hours late she made meAngryhaving said that; Most people who have a genuine reason for being late don't deserve to be stung with a hefty charge
