What would you do in this situation?

Did a early start this morning. During the handover the little one got really upset and started going on really hysterical!! Been upset on arrival recently. (Also not too long ago started nursery, and will be full time next week).

During the handover the mindee struggled whilst I tried to bring her inside, ended up banging her head on the ground outside. Mum seem to find all this a lot to deal with. (some of my family still in bed therefore I had to try to deal with this with minimum noise, but it was loud)

Do I still need to fill in the accident book as mum was present, outside? Not a problem if I have to do this.

Its her last day today.

It happened at your house, even if not inside your house so I would certainly fill in an accident record. Not sure that the presence of the Mum matters a lot to the purpose and reason for the record form being filled iyswim.

Although this is the child's last day with you, I would do everything you would normally do right up until the last minute - just to be safe and sure.

Whilst you might have had a really great relationship with the family up until now, once they have "gone", they might take a different stance and try to get funny about the banged head. I would certainly get the form filled in - do your forms have a place for the parent to sign which the Mum can do on pick up?

Hoping this all ends amicably for you.

Yes, as should anything happen later today you have a better record of what happened earlier which can help medical team get a bigger picture.

fill in the form to cover yourself and then breathe a sigh of relief....

always fill in a form as you never know what may happen afterwards and you need to cover yourself
