does this count as planning?

I use my diary to plan what Im doing with the children. Often I'll sit the evening before and plan out the next day also with notes to self and also personal appointments, childrens school stuff goes in there too. Is this ok and does it count as planning? I tried planning in a way that I would do an obs and then do next steps and when the next obs would be, but it just felt too specific, never came to fruition because when you look after children things change all the time. Sometimes even the things Ive planned for the next day dont happen because something will come up so I'll move it to the next week. Occasionally I plan the night before but if what I am doing is linked to something I'll write it in my diary for the next week when that child is attending.
It helps me to have all my info in one place because it means I can realistically organise what can happen and when. How can I show my planning to Ofsted though/ Literally is it ok when they come to just show my diary or do I need to photocopy each day in my diary and put it intheri learning journeu? I get so confused by everyhting!

I think what you're doing is ok. You ARE planning and you can show Ofsted. If you want to make a personal note about a child it might be an idea to jot it in their file. I think we all do it differently.

I'm glad you asked this as I was wondering the same. But then there maybe things I want to write in my diary and don't want Ofsted to see so I thought I might just have a planning book for jotting notes down instead. Do you think that would be ok? Obviously with anything very personal to that child to be in their own file?
