Is it worth even trying to get any work for these hours?

Youngest charge is off to nursery for 3 mornings (8-2) a week...I'm staying with them even though my hours have been cut...but tbh I dont think I realised quite how much they were cut!!

18h a week!!

I'd like to find some sort of work between 8-1 on these days...to help make up the lack of money...otherwise I'll have to hand in my notice....something I so don't want to do tbh

So...8-1 3x a week...worth looking or not?

I do realise there are a ton of things to consider aswell btw!

TIA!

Parents want all sorts of diff childcare so it's def worth looking. You should be able to find something. I've got a friend who had 3 hours between 12pm and 3pm, 2 days a week with only one child as the older one goes to nursery, and she managed to find someone who just wanted to go to the gym/shopping etc. who has one baby so she has him 6hrs a week as a share. It worked out perfectly! The mum was really happy because she didn't think anyone would only want to work 6hrs a week!

How about working in a pre-school... hours there may be 8.45-12.45 or something like that. Won't be that high pay but would be childcare related and also term-time only (if that's useful).

Not sure why you are staying given the large cut in hours, guess you have your reasons. I do wonder how long you can survive though.

What happens if the child is mildly ill (too ill for nursery but not needing parent 1:1) or nursery is closed? Presumably the parents don't need you to cover that if you are able to get another job for that time period.

Hi, I've noticed the website is advertised on here so I guess it's ok for me to mention it! I've found childcare.co.uk is good for finding "bits" of work, i.e. not ft and often closer to home than some of the other websites. Might be worth a try!

worth asking around, and making people aware of what you are offering

try posting on gumtree,netmums,childcare.co.uk etc

ask at the childs nursery / school etc too

It may be more mothers help type positions,or the odd hour where parent want time to themselves etc
