Is it normal for a childminder to have paid holiday time?

I am trying to find a new childminder and have spoke to one that says she needs 4weeks paid holiday. No other childminder has mentioned this beofore so wanted to check if thats normal?

Same here Sidge I wouldn't say anything bad about a cm who does charge for their holidays but I couldn't afford two lots of childcare fees for her time if it's different from my holidays and I don't have a choice as to when to take them.

I suspect a lot of families are in the same boat on that. Lucky those who can afford to do that! And lucky cms, too :)

I would never pay for CM holiday- my husband is self employed and he has to pay all his contributions and holidays are creating financial loss- it's just the way it is and it is their choice to work on a daily rate basis
