Hi, I'm new to these message boards but just thought I'd introduce myself... I'm a 22 year old university graduate and I'm offering child care which does not cost you a fortune! Basically, if you just need a break for a day to do your own thing/ need a few hours away from your kids, or just need a babysitter for an evening then please feel free to contact me. I can either take children out for the day or supervise play activity in the home.

This year I will be working some hours at a local primary school to gain classroom experience before doing a primary PGCE next october. I am also looking after 3 young children after school. However, I am available most weekday mornings and evenings (after approx 6.30 pm) and any time at weekends.

I have had lots of previous experience looking after young children through helping at playgroups, tennis coaching, childminding/babysitting.

Please contact me if you want to ask any other questions,

Emma

Hi Emma - are you Ofsted registered as a Childminder? If not I would strongly advise you to a) rethink the wording of your ad and b) make yourself aware of the regulations regarding childminding or advertising yourself as a childminder please. You can find these regulations on the Ofsted website.

Are you ofsted registered emma?

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/09/2010 09:52

I don't see anything wrong with the ad and don't read the ad as emma being a cm

I read it as she is willing to go to your house and either take children out to the park etc or play at their home ie as a nanny

riven is in Bristol. She has a dd with special needs and know she has always said she would like a break /some help but obv the childcarer needs to be 100% reliable and head screwed on

I'm both of those but unfortunally i'm too far away to help her :(

good luck emma

I think it?s the word ?childminder? in the title that is confusing us blondes babysitter/Nanny would be a better description if Emma is offering care in the parents home. I know Registered Childminders do not have the monopoly on the word ?childminder? but to my mind (& legally) it means Ofsted Registered Childminder- with a capital R & C. And I think pippin was only pointing out that to practise as a childminder (which means working in your our home) would be illegal if it is for more than 2 hrs a day and the person was not registered with Ofsted. Of course Emma may be registered, in which case she has every right to use the word Smile

Duh I didn't look at the title :) just the thread iyswim

I'm blonde Grin

yes agree can't be a cm if not registered

emma888 · 02/09/2010 12:46

Thanks for your comments, I'm not a childminder sorry for the confusion. I shouldn't have put that, I didn't realise exactly what that entailed. I'm offering a nanny or babysitter, on an ad-hoc basis.
