Evening all,

Could someone please explain to me what an Early Years Practitioner is? I've had a look on google but can only find information about courses. Does it differ between countries. I am in Scotland.

TIA

As far as I'm concerned an Early Years Practitioner is anyone in a key worker role (level 3 nvq, nneb, Childminder etc) the reason I say this is on my foundation degree the course materials refer to the course candidate as a practitioner.

Not to be confused with Early Years Professional which is a post graduate status award. The acronym people didn't think that one through very well...

Thanks for your reply. I'm slightly confused because I have a job interview today and the title of the role is Unqualified Early Years Practitioner. I think the job is basically working in a nursery but I wasn't sure if the title made the role different?

Childcare assistant basically

I advertise 'Childcare assistant' & 'childcare practitioner' I expect the 'practitioner' to have the level 3
