Hi, I am looking for someone to help with looking after my 4 year old after school, cooking, cleaning and helping out with a newborn a couple of days a week. Do you know where I should be looking for such person. It is not strictly speaking a nanny so I am not sure where to go? Many thanks

I used the Job Centre! Free to advertise, write exactly the description of the person you want and they help with employment law/tax situation and how to go about CRB checks etc.

Couldn't believe how easy it was TBH. We pulled the ad after we had 25 applicants and did phone and then in person interviews. We have a lovely lady who has been with us for 18 months.

Wish I'd thought of the job centre. I used gumtree successfully, but am now switching to have an au pair, as realised for the same amount that I'm paying the mothers help 15 hours a week, I could get an au pair for 25 hours a week and have help before school as well as after school!
