Soaking?

Usually just rinse mine, then they're ready to be made into a crumble...

PheasantPlucker · 13/08/2010 16:58

We eat ours straight from the bushes

looneytune · 13/08/2010 16:58

I've been known to take them to the park after with a fresh bottle of water and big bowl and just rinsed them that way. I checked with parents first and they were fine. My own kids just eat off the bush lol

looneytune · 13/08/2010 16:59

We do check for little wriggly things though as had that a few times

cece · 13/08/2010 16:59

I rinse mine in the colander for a minute or so. No soaking...

I just made 9 jars of jam this weekend. It is delicious.

ethelina · 13/08/2010 16:59

I've never soaked them either. Rinse and cook/eat straight away. Lovely with apples and custard. (or eat as you pick, just be careful about stray pesticide sprayings)

thanks, i thought they needed soaking hahahaha, better go get them out the water then, thanks for your replies.

Same as pheasant. As long as they aren't too near busy roads I don't think they do any harm.

I have them growing in the garden...so half the time I don't know the older ones have been eating them until they have purple faces!
