I have just had a phone call for september, 3 kids, all will be in full time school I will have them for 3 hours everyday.

I have 3 kids myself ages 6 (full time school) 5 (full time school) and nearly 3 year old (at home).

I am minding a 5 month old and a 3 year old but in september will be going to full time nursery.

The children are 6 years, 4 years and 3 years. will Ofsted allow me to take them on? It will be only for a couple of hours a day.

Please get back to me asap, parent is waiting.

Thank you

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Am confused what are the ages of the children you will be looking after in September?

Yours
6
5
3

Mindees for 3 hours per day
6
4 - is this child full time school?
3

yes you are allowed to do this - 3 under 5/full time school, 3 over, 6 in total?

Or do you mean you will still have the 5 month old?

actonchildminder · 26/07/2010 14:01

sorry for the confusion

2 of mine 6 and 5 are in full time school, 3 year old at home.

For September they are all in full time school,

Yes I will have the 5 month old at home

Me too - the times are relevant too (I have a ganntt chat for this)

KatyMac · 26/07/2010 14:04

So your children
6&5 at school

3yo at home

Their children
6&4 at school
3yo at home

Minded children
5mo only - as you won't have 3yo?

then yes but if you have the 3yo after nursery then no

actonchildminder · 26/07/2010 14:05

their 3 year old is full time nursery

OP posts:
xoxcherylxox · 26/07/2010 14:08

so your 6 and 5 year old
there 4 and 6 year old
your 3 year old and the 5 month old

that 2 early years and 4 over so 6 children under 8 that would be ok. unless you have to pick there 3 year old up from nursery or will you not have the 3 year old at all

looneytune · 26/07/2010 14:08

If the 2 you are minding will be going to full time nursery before the other 3 start then it's fine as you'll only have a total of 6 children and they'll all be in the correct ratios. This is if you're reg'd for 6 in total of course (i.e. 3 mindees).

KatyMac · 26/07/2010 14:24

Maximum number of children ever allowed is 6 under 8

nannynick · 26/07/2010 14:34

Does that mean 3 year olds are not counted in early years ratio if they attend 10 educational sessions a week? Or is it that they will be 4 come September?

actonchildminder · 26/07/2010 14:48

sorry im lost.

i have 3 kids (my own) 2 of them are in full time school, my 3 year old is at home.

I am looking after a 5 month old 3 days a week.

Mindees for september:

6
5
3 year olds all of whom will be in full time school/nursery until 3.30, so i will only mind them from 3.30 until 6pm

sorry for confusing everyone, im still confused myself.

KatyMac · 26/07/2010 14:50

So no you can't

If the 3yo was at F/T nursery and you were NOT having them at all

or if they were coming on different days

Then maybe

But as you will have 7 under 8 the answer is no

KatyMac · 26/07/2010 14:50

No Nick I assumed F/T nursery was indeed F/T nursery rather than until 3(ish) & a collection

actonchildminder · 26/07/2010 15:00

Thanks all for your replies, I have just spoken to Ofsted, He confirmed what katymac said and a 3 year old is still classed as an early years even though are in full time nursery.
