Hi I charge half fee if a child is unable to come due to being ill.

If a child is not well and is uanble to finish the hours requested would you still charge for the full contracted/requested hours?

I had a situation where a child had to be collected earlier due to sickness.

Thans for you advice

Well I don't do anything as I charge when THEY can't come as it's not my fault. But if you only charge half then I guess you reduce the rate from when they went home.

I charge in advance and couldn't afford to have to refund THEM for THEIR illness. But if this is what you then I guess you'll have to reduce the next invoice?

I charge full if the child is not attending on a normal contracted day.

I think i would charge full in the situation you are describing though.

Thank you so much for that.

Same here. Based on whatever you charge if the mindee is ill (in your case 50%), then you should still charge until the child would have normally gone home.

As a parent I wouldn't even consider only paying my cm half or nothing if my ds was ill. It's not her fault. I wouldn't sleep knowing that because of an unexpected thing for us, her income was reduced. How would she financially plan? If she takes a holiday or is ill then I assume she's factored this time into her rate as just in case for illness of course - and in this case I have to find other care and pay. But if I take ds out for any reason, I can't see how it would be fair to pay her less.

Sorry I'm a rambler...
