Is it OK to lie down and snooze during early labour

I have had three days of on off contractions - lumbering up. I am now getting contractions spaced every 5 to 6 minutes. When I lie down they are less frequent and less intense. I am quite tired (middle of the night here) and know that this could take a while. I am afraid if I lie down things might stop!

Go for it otherwise you might be really tired when things kick off properly

I would think you need to rest. but I am no expert. they send me sleeping in hospital during my labor. It didn't end very well, but it was slow before I slept, my waters broke while sleeping so I don't think it stopped it.
Can you call your MW?

My midwife said not to wake her until I couldn't talk and needed my husband to talk for her!
I want to know if I will stop things by sleeping!

I am not an expert either, but I think you should try to sleep.

Sleep.

Its possible that things will slow down, but if that happens then it may well have done whether you got some rest or not. All you can deal with is the here and now - and here and now you need to get as much rest as you can before you get into full blown labour. And before you have a newborn baby to take care of

Definetely sleep while you can!
When active labour starts you will not be able to stop it, aand its unlikely you will be able to sleep.
The worst thing you can do is tire yourself out!

Another one saying sleep while you can! Once you're properly in labour nothing will stop it, and you'll be so glad you got some rest.

With DS I had been in early labour all day, by the time it got to 11pm and I was tired, there was no way I was able to sleep, he came the following lunchtime and I'd had no sleep at all, it was horrible.

SLEEP, seriously sleep all you can. (I even slept a few hours before the pushing stage during a 36 hour labour thanks to drugs)

Spot the first time mum
Sleep when you can-trust me, when labour really starts you will know about it, and lying down, dancing on one toe or juggling bananas ent gunna stop it!!
Good luck!

Yes, definitely get some sleep in. The same thing happened to me - 4 days of early labour! If you find you're getting tired, think about getting a sweep done - it definitely kicked off proper labour for me anyway.
