Not sure about St Thomas' but at my pre-ELCS check they:
Took blood pressure
Checked Urine for Protiens
Took blood for tests and matching
Gave me pre-meds to take night before and in morning before going into hospital (just tablets to reduce stomach acid AFAIK)
Gave me instructions on when and where to turn up.

I think it's pretty similar in most places. All very easy and no more scary than a normal midwife check.

HTH

Sounds like my one. I also think I had my legs measured for those anti-thrombosis stockings.

withorwithoutyou · 09/06/2010 22:43

DO they weigh you too?

Meglet · 09/06/2010 22:46

Can't remember actually. Maybe, as they might need it for the anaesthetist?

AlCrowley · 10/06/2010 06:56

They didn't weigh me until I got the the ward the next morning

ZombiePlanB · 10/06/2010 17:36

thanks all. I had it today, only took 20mins but waited for 40min. Anyway they took blood, gave me prescription and that was it really.

No one's weighed me!

They also said that as I'd be in on Monday I might be discharged on Wednesday! Speedy!

They didn't weigh me till I was in and I had my check the day before my section.

Good luck
