How accurate are growth scans? And what is the consultant going to say?

I had a growth scan today and DC2 was estimated at 8 and a half pounds - I'm one day short of 35 weeks.

Have been referred for another scan at 38 weeks and have to see the consultant next week to discuss my options. Are they going to insist on inducing me early, or even having a c section?

i had a growth scan at 37 weeks for ds2 and was told he would be about 8lb6oz.
went 4 days over and he was 9lb7oz.

I ended up with a em-cs after a 13 hour labour getting to 10cms as he never engaged and got into distress.
im now 37 weeks with dc3 and hoping i can avoid a repeat of last time.

I've made an extra appt with the midwife this afternoon to talk about it so I'm hoping she'll have some words of wisdom that will set my mind at ease.

DS2 was predicted to be 8lb 4oz and was born 7lb 6oz a week later!

Why do they do the growth scans then?
I was told last week at 32+6 that baby was weighing 6lbs and having another growth scan at 36 weeks.

So, if the baby is extremely large at that stage do they induce/c-section or is it done just out of interest???

There must be some use in the scans?

I was initially sent for a scan as I'd had a small bleed which they couldn't find any explanation for (neck of womb still closed).

My second growth scan will be at 38 weeks - they've said they won't induce then, but won't let me go over 40 weeks.
