Is it possible to damage my back with Tens machine?

Hi all I had DS2 just over 7 weeks ago now & is all fine apart from my back still hurts. I hired a tens machine from boots & used it in early stages of labour (until I wanted epidural & took it off). It felt like one of the pads had slipped/moved towards the end & was quite painful. For a few days afterwards my back went into sort of spasm like the tens machine was still on it! Could this have damaged my back? Or is it the epidural? (didnt have one with DS1) or maybe because the baby was back to back?
Does anyone else have any similar experiences please or is it normal still to be sore after this time? It doensnt stop me from doing anything but I cant lie flat on my front or back in bed & hurts when I horse ride!!

Far more likely to be the epidural than the TENS machine. A TENS machine is a non-invasive transient analgesic whereas an epidural is a needle pucturing your spine delivering a chemical into part of your body. While epidurals are generally safe they frequently cause side effects. The introduction of a needle between the fibres of the spinal column can easily lead to aggrevation of nerves.

Agreed about the epidural. My cousin had a CS and went to an osteopath to have her back all lined back up again. (I went too but she said mine was a good one and I wasn't out of alignment). It only took one session and she was fine.

I do remember my back going a bit numb when I lay flat on it in the early weeks, I put it down to the spinal. It went away after a little while and I'm not bothered at all by it now. (10 months)

Unlikely to be the TENS, pretty unlikely to be the epidural also. Far more likely to be the stress and strains put on your back during the later stages of pregnancy and delivery
