Washing new baby's clothes

I know you need to wash the baby's clothes before it wears them, but does anyone have advice on whether you really need to buy the most expensive 'sensitive skin' brands or if there's a cheaper option. Also, is it ok to machine wash and maybe do an extra rinse cycle, or are you a die-hard handwashing-only for new-baby fanatic?!

just get non bio. it'll be fine. course you can machine wash and non need to do an extra rinse. just wash as normal.

I didn't bother doing anything special other than washing them on the recommended cycle in my washing machine using a non-bio powder (and that's only becasue I have to use non-bio coz DH claims to have sensitive skin!)

Oh dear I didn't do it right at all then.

I didn't bother to wash brand new, or even second hand clothes, at all.

When I did wash them I did them in biological powder (gets baby poo/sick/food out better than non bio) and didn't do an extra rinse or anything special at all.

DS didn't explode or come out in any kind of rash.

I advise you to just wash the baby's clothes as you would wash anything else and save the special baby washing powder for if he/she does turn out to have very sensitive skin.

I didn't wash DD's clothes. She has suffered no ill effects
