I have my elcs booked for Thursday I have to be at the hospital for 7am!!!

So I figure that bag wise I need minimum pre-op? So my pre-op bag I have packed:-
for baby:-
nappies
cotton wool
muslin cloth (line the crib)
2 vests
2 x babygros
2 x hats

(1 nb size 1 0-3months as don't know size of bubba!)

for me:-
dressing gown
flipflops
nighty I can feed in
2 pairs of granny full briefs
pack of mafernity pads
hand towel
camera
book/magazine

fof hubby:-
snacks
iPhone
newspaper

then my main bag with wash stuff n all the other bits can remain in the car till after op hubby can go and get when he calls everyone?

Have I forgotten anythig? I figured that way nothing calueable is in the bag and less to cart around?

You will need more vests and more babygrows. I'm guessing you will be in hospital for 24-48 hours if baby is puking, bringing up milk then you will get through quite a few in that time.

butterscotch · 26/04/2010 17:12

Thanks stripeyknickers they will be in main bag that hubby will bring in after op! I thought 5 of each so 7 in total would be enough?

Crocs that are at least one size too big are fabulous - my feet were really swollen but they were light and comfy and ideal for wading through the grossness that lives in hospital showers.

jellybeans · 26/04/2010 18:07

I took crocs, they were great. Also they sometimes put net knickers on at first or just a big pad. I would take more pads too, 2-3 packs. I ran out once and was barked at that they didn't supply them.

butterscotch · 26/04/2010 20:37

Ohhh they were croc flipflops I packed but I'll pack my normal crocs instead! Thanks ladies

If you have a fold-up changing mat that would be useful.
Make up for post-op photos! (I am grotesque in all of mine and would love a nice one!)

Mamalade · 26/04/2010 21:07

Exciting Butterscotch!
I was like a dairy cow so maybe a pack of disposable breast pads.
And I wouldn't have managed without a pack of disposable paper pants (ah the memories!)
Good Luck.let us know.(when you get a chance!!!)

Meglet · 26/04/2010 21:12

More big pants as you will still bleed a lot and those pads don't catch it all. The net ones are great, I think Boots sell them.

And more nighties, you may well sweat loads afterwards or get milk / blood on them. Average stay seems to be 3 days, I took several changes of clothes when I had my planned cs. I'd learnt the hard way after an em cs.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 26/04/2010 21:17

Really comfy baggy trousers / pyjama bottoms and loose tops for during the day. I was so undignified that lying on the bed in my nightie, everyone could see everything in my efforts to move afterwards.

Best of luck, how exciting for you!!

butterscotch · 26/04/2010 21:33

Thanks have jammies n feeding tops in main bag align with extra knix, pads, and make up etc....

Is it weirs not to be excited or freaked just going with the flow??

Bridget Jones knickers - you'll need at least a pack of 5 - Tesco has some cheap ones.

Your favourite maternity leggings - you'll still be wearing them for weeks afterwards.

DomesticG0ddess · 27/04/2010 10:42

Big towel for having a shower!

dizzydixies · 27/04/2010 10:44

arnica tablets

toiletry bag with tags that hang up in the shower so your stuff isn't on the floor
