Worried about NOT bleeding at CS

Hi

Just wondering if anyone else has had this, I know it seems daft to worry about not bleeding, but after my first emergency CS I bled heavily for weeks. This time, elective CS, I bled moderately for the first couple of days, and nothing since. I had the op last Monday. The obstetrician was brilliant and has done a really good job of tidying up my scar and removing old scar tissue, so I'm hoping she's done such a good job of cleaning me out that there's nothing much left to get rid of! I'm not sure if that's how it works?

I'm seeing community midwife on Tuesday, so I'll ask her, but would be interested to hear anyone else's experience.

Many thanks

I definitely bled less after my ELCS than I did after my EMCS.

I put it down to being in a lot less pain after my ELCS and therefore being able to get up and about quicker which will have encourage my muscles to close up again, squeezing everything out and being able to move around which will have helped gravity do it's job too.

Plus, my insides were a lot less battered after the ELCS and the surgeon had more time to do a neater, more thorough job.

I think it's normal.

I didn't bleed as much either. As GS said, think it was because the surgeon had more time to clean everything out.

Although over here (Australia) they put a drain into my uterus through the end of my scar to clear out excess blood. Not nice when it came out tho...

Should have said that SC #1 was EMCS & SC #2 was ELCS

Oh good, that's reassuring, thanks for your replies!
