i think she needs to discuss the pros and cons of all aspects of pain relief with the midwife

for instance all pain relief encompasses everything from water to epidural.. but both have extremely different pros and cons

she needs to make her own decisions based on what she knows, good and bad..

she needs to understand that staying at home as long as possible, labouring in her own home, and waiting until contractions are every 3 minutes or so and lasting a minute means it is more than likely when she gets to hspital she won't be sent home again.. and being in early laour at home, is more comforbatel and beneficial..

i take it her show did not result in contractions etc?

She needs to keep an open mind IMO.

I expected to be begging for an epidural by the time I got to the hospital the first time and suprised myself by using the pool instead the first 2 times and gas on the bed the second.

I wrote in my plan that I wanted to try natural but if I needed pain relief, I needed it.

She won't know how she feels until the time comes.
