How long does it take for cervix to go from not ready for a sweep to ready for a sweep?

Mine wasnt ready on Friday, now I am booked in for a CS next Monday but I have started to have some odd pains (like what you get when you have an upset stomach, sort of bowel contractions - never had any Braxton Hicks so maybe its them). I was just wondering if you can go from cervix being totally not ready to ready - 2.5/3 days doesnt seem very long but what do i know?!

I'm afraid that's rather like asking how long a piece of string is... It may be ready by now or still not ready in a week (or 2).

How overdue are you? Am I right in assuming this is your first baby? I really don't understand why you've been booked for a CS rather than induction.

Unless there are medical issues you really shouldn't be being pushed into induction / CS unless you are at least 14 days pat your due date. After 14 days you can still wait it out with good monitoring.

First ds I had a sweep at 40 weeks and my cervix was unfavourable. However I went into spontaneous labout at 40+8.

Ds2 - waters went, had an internal and was told my cervix wasn't doing anything. Ds2 was in my arms about 5 hours later.

So, yes it's liking how long is a piece of string.

It can change rapidly. Ase a midwife I have seen women come cak in labour who have been assessed as unfavourable afew hours earlier in the day
