Hospital bag for induction - anything I should add?

Hi all

Hope this hasn't been done a hundred times before!

I've had my hospital bags packed for ages now for nice birthing centre type birth, but now being very overdue it looks like I may need to be induced tomorrow. I'm wondering whether I should rethink/repack, add, remove anything from my bags? Thanks!

It has been done a hundred times before I'm afraid

IME a jug to pour water over your fanjo as you wee (post birth) is absolutely essential. That and chocolate!

'Cool and Soothe' sheets from the chemist. Much easier than faffing around with a wet flannel!

But yes, lots of threads on this topic. Prob be useful if you search through the archives for some tips.

Good luck!

I think the main thing that would be different is that with an induction there is usually a lot more hanging around, so I would take more magazines/books etc.

Good luck btw!

I've just temporarily escaped the hospital mid-induction... left before waters breaking point and leading onto drip--got to go back shortly. Definitely second GetThePartyStarted and just take more of things to keep you distracted.

More changes of underwear, PJs, etc.

Other than that I was very pleased with the stuff I had in my bag... which was the stuff already discussed on threads. Just make sure you have pen and paper, magazines, loads of snacks, t-bags if you're fussy like me, basically things which will make the time passing go more smoothly. Do not forget ear plugs and eye mask!
