Recovery after back to back birth...

Five weeks ago I had a back to back birth where forceps had to be used. It was a difficult birth. Five weeks on and I am still sore on the boney part of my vagina and find it painful to walk and sit down. Has anyone else found this, is this normal or should I go to the doctors?

I had forceps but didn't find it particularly painful to walk or sit down even straight afterwards. However, it was really sore generally in that area for, I would say, at least two months.

If you are worried, I would go and get it checked out. I know that this is a bit daunting but have you, erm, inspected the area with a hand mirror. It could be that you can see bruising or an infection in the stiches (which I assume you had if you had forceps).

Sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon.

go to dr just for ur peace of mnd to check it out
i had forceps with ds1 who was also back to back but i cd walk and sit fine by 5 weeks.. the first week i cdnt really walk much as was v weak but i think due to infection more than cos of the forceps or nething, then once i was home i was okay to move around as normal
maybe u are badly bruised still or something, i would get it checked out. you should be having a 6 weeks check v soon though @ 5 weeks? so why not make sure they give u that appointment in good time and bring it up there?

I have had 2 b2b labours, both with instrumental delivery, and was sore/unable to walk well for a couple of weeks. If I were you, I would ask the midwife to come out and see you at home, or failing that see the GP.

5 weeks ago I had a back to back forceps delivery too... I visited my GP last week as I realised I was particularly sore ( almost stinging/smarting) in one spot - most of the "general pain" had gone except this patch - which it turns out is proud/granulation tissue at the end of the stiches which she applied silver nitrate to.
The first two weeks were definately the worst - but week 3/4 was starting to be able to walk quite a bit. I would visit your GP and ask them to check I'm afraid.
