On day 2/3 now

Just home from the hospital and after two normal labours I don't know how anyone can say this is the easy option

So just some questions I wanted to ask and all the midwives were v busy.

Is it better to bath everyday or shower or just strip wash?

Nobody said anything about stitches, I can't see any but I have heard people talking about having their stitches removed? Nobody has told me that I need to have stitches removed.

Is it better to be walking around and active or resting more.

What about going for a poo? Any tips or does it just happen as and when

Thanks

Don't do anything other than feed and cuddle the baby and freed yourself.

If you do too much the bleeding will come back.

Don't lift anything other than the baby and don't be in a hurry to drive.

The Body Shop sell tea tree oil.

Rest as much as you can.

Whatever you do do not overdo it. Do not be tempted 4 weeks post section to start vaccuming or moving the sofa. Take it very easy. If you have a headboard that you can tie something to then tie the belt from your dressing gown to it and use that to help you get up from a lying down position, that way you will be mostly using your arms and not your core.
If your baby is a kicker then either get someone else to change their nappy or make sure that the changing surface is not just at the right height for kicking you in your stitches.
If at any point your wound seems to go very red/pink go and see the doctor.
When feeding baby put a pillow on your lap.

Waitrose have bigger bottles of tea tree oil in with the baby stuff (and by big I mean bigger than the tiny bottles you usually get, not like 1litre bottles or anything ).
