Waters with benefits??

So I was out shopping with my 2 sisters yesterday and at 38 weeks they were worried that I might "pop" at anytime.

Then one of my sisters joked that there were certain shops, where if your waters broke in the store, they would offer you vouchers or something.

I was then subjected to being dragged into all the shops they shopped in and being asked to squeeze needless to say it didn't work.

But I'm just wondering if there is any truth in this? Does anyone have any "waters with benefits" stories?

PS I don't plan on spending the next 2 weeks in all the shops just in case.

I've heard these rumours, but they're all bobbins I think.

Sainsburys went so far as to categorically deny they gave women who SROMed free nappies, coz they had so many heavily pregnant women jumping about their shops. (Read that in local rag btw. Will look for a link, but doubt I'll find one!)

Ha ha really?

I have images of folk going in with water balloons and just squeezing at the right time!

I have a few weddings this year, maybe I'll hang about in Coast

I think it depends on whether the store you "POP in" wants to use it as a PR excersise!

I was always told that if your waters went while doing your weekly shop, you got it FREE!

Mine have always gone late on, well into established labour and I have given birth within minutes both times, so unless I fancy giving birth in the cheese isle, its never gonna happen!!!

unless I use Lola's water balloon idea...........................................

Ive heard Mothercare before and Asda too, but not sure on the truth of any of these though.

Not sure of the percent, but there is only so many people who's labours start with the waters breaking. I was one of them but I was in hospital at the time anyway.

(imagines sudden stampede of heavily pregnant MN's to Mothercare!)

I've heard M&S but I'm sure it's not true!
