Hi, just wondering if anyone else has ongoing tenderness in the area where they have had a third degree tear. Almost a year on (my DD one on 22nd of this month)I'm still having tenderness in the area at certain times of the month, including ovulation/close to period. I expected this for the first few months after I stopped breastfeeding, but it's almost 6 months since I stopped. I know that everyone has different experiences, but keen to know if I'm the only one with this ongoing symptom. (Also pelvic floor get's a lot weaker around this time, despite daily exercises...)

I still get achy around time of the month 18 months on from an epi and third degree tear (forceps delivery - very messy). I have done alot of pelvic floor work (pilates etc) so no problems there but I definitely know when my period is on its way now. So you are definitely not the only one!

Thanks both, good to know - yes I had few stitches that hadn't dissolved about 3- 4 months afterwards and were particularly uncomfortable but I thought they'd dissolved (or worked their way out) but maybe not, OK thanks both, good to know others have similar issues (well good I think ) in terms of reassuring!
