Rescue remedy is good (and safe) - good luck! Have you had a previous elective? I have heard they are much more relaxed than emergency sections. I don't suppose focusing on the baby would help? Do you know what you are having?

Do you know what, this will sound really stupid but I found taht having DH clowning around being silly with the camera, taking lots of really stupid pics of the two of us helped an awful lot - took my mind off things. Think you need to just distract yourself - today and tonight with magazines, good book, DVD, lovely bath etc as well. Maybe make a playlist of music that you like - could burn a CD to play during the birth? Just keep busy really. My elec c-sect was a lovely experience but I was soooo nervous beforehand. Hope yours goes really smoothly too.

Actually my 4th baby - all by c-section - youd think id be a right old pro, and not really bothered at all, but im SO nervous lol - i may go out and get some of that rescue remedy! And im supposed to be having a girl One of my friends says she's really good at being able to 'take herself away' when shes in a nervous situation - id LOVE to know how she does it! Maybe i should have taken up Yoga lol!!

thanks bellababy!! Ive been furiously all day, and im running out of things to clean lol! Good idea with the burning some music - been needing to do that for a while so that'll keep me busy too. I suppose it'd be nice to sit down for a while and chill out abit, but i know if i do i start thinking 'Oooohhhhhh' - like now lol

How exciting!! I had an elective 4 weeks ago and i posted on here the night before too i was very nervous and suffer with anxiety anyway so was a bit of a wreck! I just focused on my baby and on the morning, DH amused me no end by being silly, taking pics like another poster said and just generally keeping my mind on other things to distact me. The experience was lovely, i was calm and everything went smoothly.

Good luck, enjoy every second and focus on cuddling your beautiful newborn. Im still on a high after having my baby girl

Ahh I had an elective C section almost 3 years ago. It was a lovely experience.

DH took me to the cinema the night before which helped! Maybe you could do that? By the time i got back from there i was so tired i fell asleep and then I only had 2 hours to be nervous up at 6, in surgery by half 8

I'm booked in for an ELCS seven weeks today and am already getting nervous!

Had emergency section with DD1 which was fine, so no reason to worry about this one realy.

I know I'll be so anxious/excited the day before though!

Really good luck!
