I hope he won't mind me posting this, but I know Dee is going in for a CS tomorrow. I just wanted to give him/them a big cheer and a good luck kiss. He is a lovely bloke and has helped me (and, I'm sure, many others) out no end.

Good luck for tomorrow hub, I'll be thinking of you.

Good luck Hub2 and Dee. I don't know the background (why the cs at 36+1, I mean) but I just wanted to reassure you. My dd1 was born by cs at 36 weeks because I had placenta praevia. She was small-ish (because I'd lost a bit of placenta, so she was a bit under-nourished) at 4lb 12oz, but absolutely fine - cried immediately, no problems with breathing, etc. She did have problems feeding, which again I think were linked to the fact that she was smaller than she should have been for her gestation (people were surprised that she needed help with feeding at 36 weeks, so I'm sure that your baby will be fine). I can sympathise with Dee's nervousness. I was so preoccupied before the op that I went into the hospital shower without a towel and ended up having to try to dry myself with paper hand towels. However, the op itself was fab. I can remember every minute of it even now (dd1 is 5) and how good it was to finally see and hold my baby.

Oops, I've just realised that the original post which said the that cs was 'tomorrow' was posted yesterday, so my reassurance is probably already out of date. Never mind... Good luck anyway.

hub, like Ellbell I don't know why dee is having the CS early - whether it's a problem with her or with the bean - but anyway my 4th was delivered at 37 weeks (just because it was the 4th CS, and they really didn't want me going into labour) and he weighed 7.4 and was absolutely fine.

It's such an exciting moment when they lift that baby out! Will be thinking about you all later!

SaintGeorge · 06/07/2005 09:43

Best of luck Hub, Dee and bean. I will be watching the clock waiting for 4.30 to come around

Janh - I think the cs is scheduled because of maternal hypertension. There is a thread from Hub somewhere.

Janh · 06/07/2005 09:45

Is that high blood pressure, StG? So the baby should be normal size and well?

Kiwifruit · 06/07/2005 09:49

Good luck Hub2Dee and Dee!! Have all my fingers and toes crossed for you. Enjoy meeting your little bean!

SaintGeorge · 06/07/2005 09:49

I think so Jan, hang on, will find thread

SaintGeorge · 06/07/2005 09:53

here although I think he also posted an update on another thread somewhere.

hub2dee · 06/07/2005 09:54

Hugs back to all posters.

Dee developed hypertension during her pg, has been on anti-hypertensive drugs, but placentra functioning is degrading, amniotic fluid reduced, and bean's growth is now tailing off.

Hoping bean comes out making a big noise and is fine. If she needs some TLC, I am sure she will get good care.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Dee has read the thread and also sends her thanks to everyone.

DEFFO BRILL

throckenholt · 06/07/2005 09:58

Good luck.

Just another thought - the baby may have problems feeding for a few weeks (littlies often do). If Dee wants to breastfed be prepared for possibly a few rough weeks of epxressing. Come here for lots of encouragement and advice

Kayleigh · 06/07/2005 10:07

Best of luck to both of you for tomorrow. X

clary · 06/07/2005 10:22
