What happens if your birth partner has a bad cold when you go into labour?

Dh currently has his third cold in 2 months (considering he was a one a year bloke until recently am very worried about his immune system). Anyhow I am37 weeks and bubs head is completely engaged so it could be anytime, just wondering if the hospital will let you have an ill birth partner? Hopefully it won't come to this and he will be better before I go into labour. I guess if he is still ill the main risk is to the baby but I know he wants to be there for birth of first child. Perhaps I need to find a contingency just in case.....

My cousin got sent home cos he was throwing up and his wife had same bug few days before birth. He made it back in for actual birth though just had to scrub up before coming in. He then had to go straight home.

i wouldn't have thought a cold would make any diffence as long as he is not coughing and sneezing over everything.
Your baby will be coming home to his bugs anyway so wouldn't worry to much about that.
Good hand hygiene is the best way to stop the spread of a cold.

Potentially still 3 weeks for him to get over it. VitC up to the max and cold and flu remedies he will be fine i am sure.

It won't make any odds.

My DH had a stinking cold when I had DD2 and although it was a home birth it made no difference to either me or the baby. Neither of us caught it and in fact in hindsight it probably helped DD build up immunity.

I'm sure it would make no difference in a hosptal either.
