Hi

Im 37+5 days (dc3) and baby still isnt head down, in the last 3 days she has turned a whole circle and is never in one place for very long.

I have a midwife appointment today to check where baby is laying. Both me and DH are getting very stressed because the very last thing we want is an emergancy c-section.

Do you think theres any chance they may offer me an elective c-section?
Am I even allowed to request one?

Im just so worried that they will let me go into labour naturally then end up having emergancy c-section.

Thankyou

Tell them your worry, tell them it is really frightening you and making you anxious. All you can do is try, all areas are different as some places are more willing for elective c-sections then others.
Good Luck

Hi, oh it's no fun when they're just not in the right position is it? I'm 40+2 with my first and this baby has been all over the place (was footling breech till 32 weeks ).

The hosi staff won't want to deal with an unexpected situation either - but the mw will be able to advise on next steps (including referring you to the consultant if necessary to talk about ELCS) after your appointment today. I would say if your dd has turned full circle in this last few days she obviously has plenty of room in there to move around and will probably go head down for her exit , and your contractions will help with getting her in the right positon for birth.

When I was trying to get my baby to turn I was advised to spend as much time on all fours as possible and also to use an excercise ball - it worked for me, good luck!!!

I worried along similar lines for my first baby but what really reassured me is my doctor friend saying emergency C and elective C are the same procedure usually, the "emergency" element is not "rip the baby out now" but more sort of, oh, ok, you're in labour, baby is in the wrong place, let's book the operating theatre today then.

Good luck, hope your baby will turn anyway.

What were your experiences with DCs 1 and 2? Hopefully someone with similar background can come and help you on this thread in a mo.
