Hypnobirthing CD recommendations please

After quite a lengthy and difficult first birth, I am quite apprehensive about giving birth again. I'm 29 weeks pregnant.

I've read various positive stories about hypobirthing and wondered if anyone could make any specific CDs as to which ones are good?

There seem to be a few on ebay (I can't afford the course, so thought I'd buy the CD). Has anyone used the Marie Mongan CD?

Any suggestions very welcome - thanks.

I like the Maggie Howell Natal Hypnotherapy one. Am yet to go into labour but it has made me amazingly calm. In fact am a totaly convert to hypnotherapy and will use it to knock anxiety and demon riddled sleep into touch in the future i think.
Mongan is very american - for me i just knew i wouldn't be able to handle listening to it that many times and they say you need to listen at least 20 times....

Thanks Bella - I've ordered that one, it's also got good reviews on Amazon.
Fingers crossed it works! Thanks for posting.

Loved the natal hypnotherapy CDs. My top tip would be to get your birth partner to listen to the CDs and decide what they will say to relax you in labour. My DP listened to the CDs, but we never agreed on exact phrases for him to say during labour (e.g. "3, 2, 1, relax"), and he was a bit too panicked to remember anything from the many ideas/phrases on the CD, so we didn't get max benefit.

Thanks Hopefully!
TBH, DH has already said he'd like to try the CD for himself, as he is a bit of an insomniac , but I'll ask him to think about phrases for the labour (the reason we have bought the CD in the first place, tee hee!!)

My DP used to occasionally fall asleep during them, and I would spend the rest of the CD determinedly staying calm and serene instead of stuffing a pillow in his snoring mouth! Clearly they relaxed him.

that's so funny that your DH's listen to them too. I can't stay awake through it. will try today though. It's my due date today. EEEEKKK!!

Another thumbs up for Natal's CD! I used for my first birth and also fell asleep throughout. I think anything that relaxes you in advance of the big event can only be a good thing! Good luck
