Not sure if this has been highlighted before now, but think it's very important!

i want one!! how did you get it?

hub2dee · 04/07/2005 20:47

bubble99 knitted it for her out of muesli.

CarolinaMoon · 04/07/2005 21:03

but shurely it would disintegrate in the wash, hub?

hub2dee · 04/07/2005 21:04

Only if you go over 40 degrees, CM. If you cold wash, you'll be fine. Don't forget to clean the filter regularly though.

There's a photo shoot in Liverpool on Friday. I don't know whether they have all the people they need for it but if anyone lives locally you could contact them about being part, maybe?

Kiwifruit · 05/07/2005 14:39

It works in NZ - a lot of my friends have had the same midwife for all of their births, and struck up lasting friendships with them. You even get to shop around and find a midwife you're comfortable with. I nearly died when I found out I wouldn't necessarily see the same midwife more than once in the UK and that I was unlikely to know the midwife who delivered my baby. Made me run out and hire a doula straight away (private midwife was a bit beyond our budget). So far have seen a different midwife every time, and 3 of them are pregnant and due around the same time as me, so they definitely won't be delivering my baby!!

Am sure that one to one care would result in much better job satisfaction for the midwives as well as improved care for the mothers.

The website seems really good. I just wish I had this option of care when I was having my firstborn.. Off to sign the petition!
The website is www.onemotheronemidwife.org.uk in case anyone wanted to have a look
