Usually close to 39 weeks I believe

at the most a week before your due date i think

Mine was 2 weeks before due date.

My hospital was 39 weeks. But I think that it varies between 38/39 weeks, depends on the consultant.

Most recent guidelines are to try and avoid doing them before 39 weeks. Mine is booked for 39 weeks on the dot. Reason being that chance of baby suffering from complications as a result of lung immaturity drops from about 4% (at 38 weeks) to 2% (at 39 weeks).

They will do it earlier if they they think there is any additional risks to mother/ baby - what they term obstetric emergencies I believe.

DS was delivered at 37 weeks due to other complications.
