Natural/ physiological 3rd stage - what's it like?

I'm aiming for a VBAC in about 6 weeks after an EmCS at fully dilated as my DS was malpositioned (deflexed OP). I'm feeling confident about managing it if this LO is in the right position this time but have had to really think about my birthing options this time.

Last time we were hoping for a natural third stage (i.e. no injection) and wondered about the same again but I wondered what it was actually like - pros and cons and would you recommend it??

I was hoping it would give us more time with our DD in those precious early moments but does it actually prolong the pain and keep the MW loitering?

Update - and name change! - I had a natural third stage after my VBAC waterbirth on friday and delivering my DD Ivy at 6lb6oz. I just pushed the placenta out painlessly on the loo after a very relaxed half hour in the pool with my little girl. It was absolutely fine and didn't have much blood loss afterwards (apart from a gross moment in the shower with a giant clot aargh TMI sorry ).

I would definitely go for it again. Thanks to all.

one last push - and put placenta came -

natural 3rd stage both times, no real problem. not painful at all - a bit uncomfortable

but that's just how it went for me...

Congratulations

It was fine . The placenta came out after about 20 minutes in 3 easy pushes. Just be aware that you might pass big blood clots before the placenta and get excited that it's all over
After the baby's head the placenta is a doddle. It's quite interesting to look at, they show you if you want to have a look

Don´t remember have injections or passing the placenta!

But I know in both cases it was very quick!
