How long is this going to go on for?

For two weeks now (I am now 40+3) I have been having occasional period like pains and BHs. I get all excited and then they stop.

Last night, I woke up at 3am with a period type pain, which then went away. I was then awake until 5 waiting for another one that didn't come. I was so convinced that that was it that I couldn't sleep at all. Now I'm so frustrated I can barely think straight.

How long is this going to go on? I'm not sure how much more I can take without going completely bonkers.

the answer, annoyingly, is how long is a piece of string?

are they planning on giving you a sweep or anything?

it is very frustrating to be so near the end and thing it's starting, then it stop.

But remember there are all signs that you are going in the right direction.

Can you distract yourself a bit, tv, radio, book, food, walk, call a friend?

Good luck, nearly time!

I feel your pain.
I am 41 weeks today, Ive been trying every old wifes tale going and have just had my sweep about an hour ago and have been told to not go anywhere because im most likely to go into labour today. So im stuck indoors and not even able to go out and finish my christmas shopping.

I knoooow. I know no-one can tell me how long it will be. I'm just going quietly insane with the waiting and the 'ooh, is this it', and it not being.

I've a sweep booked in for Monday. They wouldn't do one any sooner.

going to go for a walk along the beach and hope I can dislodge the wee blighter.

And if one more person says 'ooh, it could be a christmas day baby' I will go mental. Why do they think this would be a good thing?

Ferret - I envy you, although the christmas shopping situation must be annoying. Good luck!

Oh yes. I'm at my due date now and have had on-off period type pains for a couple of weeks too. So frustrating. I'm getting grumpier by the minute. Don't remember this with my other two pregnancies. And I totally agree about the Christmas Day baby comments. aarrgghhh! Good luck ladies!

Atlas - give it a few days and I swear you will be turning people to ashes with your eyes. I'm at that stage. I almost gave the cat away to the rspca this morning for being fussy about her food.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm 41+1 - had a sweep yesterday and woke at 2am with period-type pains and was absolutely convinced that was it and the sweep had worked its magic. By 3.30am it wore off and haven't felt a thing since then.

It is sooooo frustrating.

cakeaddict - noooo! It's unbearable isn't it?

Hi Rachie. I had the same due date as you. Its so awful not knowing. Everyone is so different. I had period pains and strong BH's for about 2 weeks before this time round
