I didn't bleed much last time and got away with Always Ultra.......but just in case!

I used tesco and they were good

I had a mixture of mothercare and sainsburys own brand. both were fine. Personally, I needed the proper maternity towels for the first 2 weeks before I could switch to always as I bled heavily. You're doing the right thing in being prepared!

thanks ladies! Just want to be confortable too!

I found sainburys own to be great. No issues but I dont think I bled that much. Really thick and padded which helped with discomfort and swelling and protected stiches. Always would have coped with blood but wouldnt have been a good matress for my poor bits!

A good matress is always needed after stiches!!

I used always night time pads and a load of cheap knickers from primark.

jujubean · 13/12/2009 21:39

I vote Tena Lady Pants at beginning, cos pad is inbuilt it doesn't move about and therefore no leaks.

houmousandcarrotsandwich · 14/12/2009 09:53

I've gone for Always Ultra Night. Thinking of wearing 2 at a time, sound like a good plan?

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 14/12/2009 09:55

Kotex nighttime towels are incredibly thick. soft, absorbent and inexpensive! They are long too.
I used them for after my dcs and recommend them to everyone I know who is about to have a baby!

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 14/12/2009 09:58

I agree with the tenalady pants especially if you have stitches as they cushion everything and are very comfortable/disposable. We found this out when dp bought them by mistake. My MW said she'd recommend them to everyone now.

MumGoneCrazy · 14/12/2009 10:59

I used boots own brand maternity towels and found them very good they were thick, long and cheap

After 2 weeks when my bleeding lightened
I went back to using my usual towels (always)

cheerfulvicky · 14/12/2009 11:07

Mothercare ones were really comfy and soft for the first few weeks! Then, I can't remember what I used, just normal pads like always night time, I think...

tvfriend · 14/12/2009 14:31

The slim boots ones- don't feel like you've got a brick between your legs...

Kingsroadie · 14/12/2009 21:40

Definitely kotex night. Had baby 18 days ago and tried boots and kotex. Kotex are great - thick, really soft, wide enough and long enough. I didn't really bleed that much but they were good to sit on as I was a bit swollen below.

saltyseadog · 14/12/2009 21:42

Boots cheapie ones - I liked the padding that they gave for my poor bits.
