Symptoms of engagement/dropping

Hi

I'm 35 weeks and have noticed in the last few days that I'm getting some quite sharp spasmy pains very very low down as well as getting pressure and aching deep in the same place which makes sitting down for long periods pretty uncomfortable. Mind you, walking is also uncomfy!

I've also noticed an increase in clear discharge.

Someone mentioned dropping to me. I wondered if these were the symptoms or if this is all normal. It seems to be a whole new set of symptoms in the past few days!

I'm just curious really. Any ideas or is this just normal at this stage. Suddenly everything feels uncomfortable round my pelvis area. According to my DH I'm pretty zoned out as well.

TIA

yep it sounds like the head has moved down. I don't get lots of aching, but i do get the occasional stabbing pain low down which can be quite uncomfortable! Are you seeing your midwife soon as she should be able to tell you the baby's poistion; I think for me it was the 36 wk apt at when she first noted it being engaged. I am now 40+5 and no signs of labour so doesn't always mean anything will hapen soon!

Good luck!

Thank you Bex

I forgot to mention the pressure in my bum.
Ouch!

My midwife team are surprisingly rubbish. I haven't seen them since 16 weeks for various reasons although I have finally managed to get an appt this weekend.

Hope baby Bex makes an appearance soon!

Im 33 weeks on Friday with my 2nd and have had exactly the same as you this week. Sometimes it feels like an electric shock in my bits. I had this from about 36 weeks with dd1.

I find sitting/lying in certain positions helps. Walking long distances does not help!!

Good luck.

Yes!

It does sometimes feel like an electric shock!
I have done some walking today I suppose.

OMG that is a long time to go without an appt! Well when you do go, ask her to check it. At this point i would have thought they should be checking position as a matter of course, because as everyone will delight in telling you, in two weeks time you will be full term and baby could come at any time...or in my case...keep you waiting!!

good luck with it all and hope you don't have to wait too long!

Ah sorry - should have mentioned have been seeing a consultant regularly so am being monitored, just not by the midwives who don't seem to realise I exist.

Thanks

Feels like my thighs are popping out of their sockets and I have a wicked low down back ache.

Is this normal or should I be seeing someone?
