prolapse bladder? help!

Hi,

i'm sorry if this is too much information but you all seem such a wise bunch and i need some advice!

i am wondering if i have some sort of prolapse and (i am about 28 wks pregnant) whether i shoudl have this investigated in the first instance, by my useless midwife or by my useless GP?!

if i list some of my 'symptoms' i would be really grateful for your thoughts or to hear from anyone who may have had a similar experience?

i'm 'only' 30 and i thought this was something that happened to old ladies, i am fairly overweight, if i'm honest. and this is my second pregnancy.

since the start, i have been leaking if i sneeze or cough but didn't thikn too much of it and just stepped up my pelvic floors exercises.

however, in last 3 months, i have felt too uncomfortable for sex and it feels like he's pushing stuff out the way! sorry

recently, i plucked up courage to look in the mirror and i can see something there that i don't htink should be there!

i feel very heavy down there and am needing to pee at night loads, 4-5 times sometimes.

can anyone help me? i'm starting to worry about delivery as pushing surely can't help and can anything be done to help going forward?

i dont' want the docs (or whoever) to just tell me to go away and do more pelvic floors..

help! i'm so embarrassed.

That sounds like normal vulval swelling in late pregnancy. I'm afraid it's untreatable though putting your feet up a bit can help. The weight of the baby does turn your pelvic floor into a basement.

It does get better post partum. Weeing a lot during the night is normal too.

When you say you see something, what exactly do you see? Unless it's a bat sleeping upside down, I doubt you will shock us lot

ok.. well you asked so here goes!

err.. if i lie back like having a vaginal exam, then push back the vulva lips, i can see the opening to my vagina. if i push a little (not v much) then this sort of blob of internal-looking muscle or whatever appears at hte opening and it has a tiny small hole in it (which wee comes out of i push really hard!).

gosh, that all sounds gross.

if i push it with my finger it will move, its soft and not solid. if i stop pushing, then it sort of goes back up but i can still feel with a finger.

what is it?!

Sounds like your cervix! What makes you think it's wee that is coming out? Would be worth mentioning it to the midwife - don't worry she won't laugh. But don't worry, it doesn't mean you are falling apart and even if it is a prolapse it can be corrected very easily after you've had your baby.

wethree · 07/12/2009 14:28

err, i can just see its wee - it just is!

its getting quite uncomfy so i think i will have to mention it to her!

i hope it can be sorted out - i'm a bit worried i'm going to be stuck like this!

Hi
You definitely need to go and get yourself checked out. It does sound like a prolapse from what you have said. Your midwife should refer you to the hospital to be reviewed. There are a number of things that they can do to help you so that this doesn't occur. Good luck

wethree · 07/12/2009 17:30

@hanaflower: were you able to get yours fixed and, if you don't mind telling me, how?

also, does anyone know how it might affect my delivery of this baby? i'm a bit worried that all that pushing won't help things!

i think i'm doing them properly. i've read that they're quite easy to get wrong so i took the time to find out how you're supposed to do them. i'm willing to be told i'm not doing them properly though, perhaps the midwife can advise me.

i have a midwife appt next mon anyway, i will ask her then. hope she can help me!
