How do you slow down or stop the baby arriving?

Hi, seems a bit silly, considering all the other threads hoping to hurry things along, but I reallly really want to go over mydue date (next Monday). My trusted dr is away till JUST before my date, and since I really trust him, and he has delivered my other two DS's, I want to wait for his effing cruise to be done. I also dont want to be early as I live abroad, and my mum is only coming till a full week after I technically leave hospital - which is crap, as I wanted her there 'instantly' on me leaving,as time has proved I am a hormonal mess the first week after birthing..So, what do I NOT do, etc, to ensure baby waits till next week? Every twinge is really getting me worried right now..

There's bugger all you can do to control when your baby comes in the majority of cases. The safest and healthiest thing for you and the baby is for it to come when it's ready.

All you're going to do is get yourself into a state. Do you have any friends there?

I don't think there's anything you can actually do, but it is common for women to delay giving birth until the situation is right for them in some way. So maybe your body will hang on simply because you're anxious about giving birth till your doctor returns. Good luck.

Hmm, well I guess I'll stay in bed as much as two small todddlers will allow me to, and just cross my legs mostofthe week. I have lots of support here, it's just for the week after I leave hospital, I really wanted my mum there. She's a fab cook!
